Most stores see their first reorder suggestions on day one. Forecast accuracy improves over the first few weeks as the model learns your seasonality.
The full walkthrough covers everything below — install, onboarding, forecasts, reorder suggestions, and purchase orders — inside a real store.
You install Inventory Genius from the Shopify App Store. We pick up your products, variants, locations, sales history, and current inventory levels automatically. No CSVs.
A guided five-step flow helps you add your suppliers, confirm which products are stocked, choose how to handle history, and set your safety-stock and lead-time defaults. It takes about ten minutes.
Inventory Genius generates a baseline demand forecast for every active variant at every location. New stores get an AI-assisted bootstrap; established stores get statistical models tuned to their history. You can review and override at the product, category, or location level.
Open Purchasing → Reorder and you'll see a ranked list of what to reorder, by location, with quantities and the supplier already attached. Switch horizon (2 / 4 / 8 / 12 weeks) depending on how far you want to plan ahead.
Convert a suggestion into a purchase order. Email it to your supplier from inside the app. When stock arrives, receive it — on desktop or with the mobile scan flow. Inventory updates back to Shopify automatically.
Install Inventory Genius and you'll see your first reorder list before the end of the day.
